TOP FIVE REASONS TO MOVE TO PARK LANGLEY
Park Langley is just over a mile from Bromley town centre, nestled between Beckenham and West Wickham, both providing a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants. There are two modern gated developments to the west of Park Langley, Langley Park and Langley Waterside, adding a greater choice of properties types. The area has beautiful open spaces, fantastic sporting facilities and excellent primary and secondary schools. When families move to Park Langley they often choose to stay long term, enjoying numerous social activities for all ages and a strong sense of community. Read on to discover our top five reasons why this could be the place for you.
1. Character and charm - family homes and luxury apartments
Park Langley was developed at the turn of the 20th century. The original Park Langley houses are Edwardian with the finest examples situated within the Conservation Area bordered by Hayes Way, Whitecroft Way and Wickham Way. Large gardens are a feature of the development and outside the Conservation Area there is a good array of detached houses, as well as semi-detached properties and bungalows. Langley Park and Langley Waterside have added diversity to the choice of properties in the area and have gated entrances with security. Langley Waterside has exclusive blocks of flats with views over a lake, a host of townhouses of different designs and a small number of exceptional detached properties. By contrast, houses in Langley Park are mostly detached, suiting families of all sizes. There is also a delightful square of townhouses, an enclave of flint-fronted cottages, beautiful apartment blocks and character properties converted from the original building.
In the near future there will be a further prestigious development at Langley Court with three blocks of luxury apartments and outstanding detached houses
2. A good education
The Langley Park Secondary Schools for boys and girls are very popular, the former of which was judged outstanding by Ofsted in June 2015 and has occupied a new school building since January 2012. Unicorn Primary School is located by the entrance to Langley Waterside and there is a current application for a new primary school by the Langley Park secondary schools to be opened in September 2016. Other schools in the surrounding area include Highfield Infants and Junior Schools and Clare House Primary School, which has just moved into a brand new building on the site. Independent schools include St Christopher’s in Beckenham and St David’s College in West Wickham for children up to 11 years of age.
3. Sporting excellence
The Park Langley Club is one of the county’s leading tennis facilities with a very active social calendar and newly refurbished gym facility. It is also popular for squash and badminton. Alternatively, if you are a keen golfer, Langley Park Golf Course provides a tough but fair challenge for even the most serious golfer, amongst tree-lined fairways.
4. Well connected
Park Langley is convenient for three mainline stations to London, with Eden Park being the closest, offering services to Charing Cross and Cannon Street. From Beckenham Junction there are frequent trains to Victoria and The City as well as tram services to Croydon and Wimbledon. Shortlands station (one stop from Bromley South) links to the Beckenham Junction line and also has trains to Kentish Town via St Pancras International station with high speed Eurostar services to European cities. There is road access to the M25 with motorway routes to Gatwick and Heathrow. Bus route 352 runs from central Beckenham to Park Langley and approximately 20 minutes later arrives at Bromley South.
5. Everything you want on your doorstep
The parade of shops by the Park Langley roundabout includes popular cafes, a pharmacy and specialist convenience stores with a post office. Just beyond is Kelsey Park with a beautiful lake and attractive walks to central Beckenham. Beckenham and West Wickham High Streets offer a mix of independent stores, supermarkets, restaurants, bars and coffee shops.
