Proctors is pumped for Know Your Blood Pressure Day!

As a local business, we’re always keen to support local causes to raise awareness around important issues that affect our community. In what has now become an annual tradition, we’re supporting the Stroke Association’s ‘Know Your Blood Pressure Day’ on 14th April, backed by Rotary International.

High blood pressure is single biggest risk for strokes, diagnosed as a contributing factor in over half of all strokes. Unfortunately, hypertension has no symptoms, meaning that there are over 5.5 million people in England who unknowingly have an increased risk of having a stroke.

The only way to know if you have high blood pressure is to have it tested, which is why we are encouraging local residents to take the opportunity to have theirs checked! Langley Park Rotary Club will be hosting free blood pressure tests at St. Francis Church Hall, West Wickham on Saturday 21st April, between 9.30am-12.30pm.

“Strokes strike every five minutes in the UK, making it ever more important to raise awareness of the link between high blood pressure and the increased risk of a stroke,” explains Jeremy Gauntlett, Partner at our Proctors Bromley/Sundridge Park branch and Publicity officer for The Rotary Club of Langley Park, “We’re proud to support such a worthy cause.”

Alexis Wieroniey, Deputy Director for Policy and Influencing at the Stroke Association says, “High blood pressure is much more common than people think, which is why we’re urging as many West Wickham residents as possible to take a moment, and have theirs checked.”
