Proctors Best Beer Garden Revealed
Over the past few weeks we have been asking you, to vote for your favourite beer garden in the Boroughs of Bromley and Croydon across Twitter and Facebook. For the second year, Proctors Best Beer Garden award has proved just as popular. Even with the temperature dropping, this still didn’t deter you, with votes pouring in.
So, who did you beer-lieve in? Was it last year’s winner - The Shortlands Tavern? Or was it; The Goldsmiths Arms, The Royal Oak, The Faber Fox, The Builder Arms, Ye Old Whyte Lyon, The Chancery or The George?
We are delighted to reveal that the winner of Proctors Best Beer Garden, goes to…
…The Chancery, Beckenham. Congratulations!
Located at the top of Chancery Lane (where the pub’s name comes from) on Bromley Road this gastropub is described as offering ‘great food, great drinks and great people’. It opened in 2014 as the sister pub to The Jolly Woodman, just a stone’s throw down the lane.
In terms of the outdoor space, there is ample seating in either the front or back garden – yes they have two! They’ve even re-invented empty beer barrels into seats – to allow for those really hot days. Retreat to the back for a quiet setting and to enjoy the fairy lights when turned on at night. The Chancery also take bookings for the garden so you can always secure a spot during the busier times, if you get in first. Just make sure you have a beer in-hand before you take a seat.
You took a chance on them and they came first in line. To find out more about The Chancery, click here.
We would also like to congratulate the other establishments which were highly commended: The Faber Fox, The Shortlands Tavern, The Goldsmiths Arms, The Royal Oak, The Builder Arms, Ye Old Whyte Lyon and The George.
And to all our contenders have a brew-tiful day.
